Covid-19 update

Dear clients,

Under the recent Covid-19 “circuit breaker” measures announced by the government on April 3, veterinary services have been categorised as one of the #essentialservices that may still continue to operate. However, we may only offer emergency, non-elective veterinary services, including hospitalization.

In line with these circuit breaker measures, Vets For Life is playing our part. We will now be rolling out stricter processes to keep more people at home and to flatten the curve. We hope these measures will help to manage crowds and ensure safe social distancing at our clinics.

We seek your kind support in following these stricter processes with effect from 7 April 2020.

  • Following the latest guidelines issued by the AVS, we will no longer be accepting non-emergency or elective procedures (e.g. routine uncomplicated sterilisation, dental scaling and polishing etc). Clients who have already booked appointments for these procedures will be contacted soon for an appointment reschedule.
  • NO WALK-INS – Walk-ins for non-essential services will not be entertained. If it is an emergency and you have to rush down to see us, please give us a call as soon as possible so that we can make necessary arrangements to accommodate your visit.
  • PHONE Triage – For ALL animal-related issues (emergency or otherwise), please call our clinic first. We will assess whether (1) your pet will be required to see our vets at the clinic, or (2) whether a telephone consult will be appropriate. For telephone consults, medications may be dispensed over-the-counter (in this instance, a nominal consult fee will apply).
  • APPOINTMENTS – We will be spacing out all appointments to ensure minimal contact of clients at the clinic, and ensure enough space for social distancing at all times. Please adhere strictly to your appointment time. There will be a 10-minute grace period, after which your appointment might need to be rescheduled. Please call us if you are running late.
  • UPON ARRIVAL, please wait outside the clinic until the receptionist calls you in. All visitors must bring and wear a mask. You will need to disinfect your hands, fill up a declaration form and have your temperature checked outside the clinic. We will not allow entry to any visitors with temperatures higher than 37.0°C, or are showing respiratory symptoms, or have returned from overseas to Singapore in the past 14 days, or are serving a SHN/LOA notice.
  • SAFE SOCIAL DISTANCING – Only 1 client (ideally the primary caretaker) will be allowed into the consult room with the vet. There will be designated standing areas within each consult room. Following the consult, please wait outside the clinic again until the receptionist calls you to make payment.
  • MERCHANDISE – Clients will still be able to purchase repeat medications and prescription diets. Please call us in advance so that we can prepare the items. A pick-up time will be allocated. We seek your cooperation to adhere to your given time slot.
  • VISITATION – Clients with hospitalised pets will receive updates primarily via phone (videos or calls). For critically-ill patients, 1 family member will be allowed to visit once a day, for a maximum of 10 mins.
  • PAYMENT – For now, we prefer contactless payment methods (PayNow or paypass/wave).

We know that these are significant changes, but we seek your understanding in the next month as we try to keep everyone safe from Covid-19. It is possible we might experience some teething issues in the early days as we refine our processes to comply with the new measures. We ask for your kind patience.

In this time of uncertainty, we would like to sincerely thank everyone for being so understanding with us and adhering to our new operating measures as we work together and help combat the spread of Covid-19.

We will continue to update you and adapt our measures accordingly as the situation changes.

Together, we will overcome this!

With love,
VFL family
